What is Scouting?
Scouting is a global, educational youth movement. In the UK Scouting is organised through the Scout Association and has a clear purpose:
To help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as Members of their local, national and international communities.
1st Swindon is part of Swindon North District which is part of Wiltshire Scouts and all of use belong to the Scout Association.
We have three sections which are open to both boys and girls:
- Beavers – 6 to 8 years old and meet on a Monday evening.
- We meet at The Wick, The Brow, Haydon Wick, 6:15 – 7:30pm.
- Cubs – 8 to 101/2 years old and meet on a Thursday evening.
- We meet at The Wick, The Brow, Haydon Wick, 6:30 – 8:00pm.
- Scouts - 101/2 to 14 years old and meet on a Friday evening.
- Between April – October, we meet at Bowmoor Sailing Club, Letchlade, 6:30 – 9:30pm.
- Between October – March, we meet at The Wick, The Brow, Haydon Wick, 7:30 – 9:30pm.
- After Scouts the youngsters can move to Explorers which is run by Swindon North District
